File Permissions with the Origami theme

By nenad, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

Hi!

During a security check with my Origami website I discovered that dozens of directories have 777 file permissions, which are considered a security risk. How come so many directories have 777 file permissions? Is the cause within the Origami theme or with my web hosting?

Can I change all the directories to 775? Are there special permission requirements for Origami directories and files?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi Nenad, thanks for running Origami. An important part of the theme review process that all our themes undergo to be listed on the WordPress.org directory is that they don’t in any way alter file permissions. So this would need to be something investigated from an overall WordPress installation/hosting point of view.
