Features Widget: How to use rectangular images?

Hi,

I’m using the features widget, works like a charm.

However, I’d like to be able to use rectangular images and have the widget only respect the height (so that all images on the same row are aligned).

I have been looking at the css and php code (base.php for the widget), but can’t really find what to adjust.

Help or pointers appreciated!

Regards

    Hi Bas16v

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    (Please, keep in mind that all plugins and themes completely overwrite their own folders during updates. Any changes you make directly to plugin or theme files will be lost if you ever run an update for that plugin/theme).

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks :) Am I right in saying the initial issue is that the custom icons are being cut off? Have you tried increasing the icon size within the Features widget settings? Once the images are no longer cut off, I’m hoping we’ll be able to assist with the CSS you’re requesting, making the height what it was before.

    Summary: Task one is to get entire custom icon showing.

    Thanks for the reply.
    I increased the container and icon sizes to 150px and 100px respectively. This ‘blows up’ the icons as you can see at the url I provided. Can you confirm?

    Hi Bas16v

    Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

    Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

    Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, just created the account.

    Please let me know if I need to change anything regarding file permissions etc (I fully manage the server).

    Regards and thanks again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Apologies for the delay.

    1. Try installing our Custom CSS plugin, SiteOrigin CSS and then going to Appearance > Custom CSS and inserting:

    .sow-icon-image {
    	background-repeat: no-repeat;
        background-position: center;
    }

    2. We’ve resolved the image crop issue by re-uploading the icons in question.

    Hi, I Work Here

    To fix your other icons, go to the icon in your Media Library, click on it, select the URL in the right column meta box, paste that URL in your address bar in a new tab. Save the image to your desktop. Reupload the image your Media Library. Go to the Features Widget and reupload the image.
