Featured Content not showing up with Unwind Child Theme

Hello,

I decided to add a child theme to my website which is currently running the beautiful Unwind Theme.

However, upon switching to a child theme the featured content area is no longer showing up.

My website is: http://digitalzengarden.com/

The featured content shows up when I switch back to the normal Unwind theme.

I appreciate any help in the matter :)

    Hi Noah

    Thanks for reaching out.

When you switch to a child the theme slug changes so all your options reset. Perhaps head over to Theme Settings in the Customizer and make sure the blog slider is enabled and that you’ve chosen a featured tag.

Thank’s it is now showing up!

However, its only showing one featured item and won’t slide to the other two. When I revert back to the parent theme it no longer has the slider functionality.

I appreciate your quick response :)

    Glad that helped.

Is Autoptimize breaking the slider? Try clearing its cache and temporarily disabling it. If that’s the issue then you might need to see if you can exclude the slider files. /wp-content/themes/siteorigin-unwind/js/jquery.flexslider.js. Not sure if this is the issue but this is the route I’d take to troubleshoot.

    Hello,

Once again thank you for the quick reply. I have disabled Autoptimize but the featured content is still not rotating. If there is no option for this I guess I will try disabling plugins one by one.

It’s weird as it was working before the child theme, but no longer. Even if I revert back.

I managed to find the culprit.

    Thanks for the help!
