Even with Updates, SiteOrigin Image Grid Missing/Uneditable

By Siobhan Muir, 2 months ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 2 months ago.

Hi,

I have put off updating your widget on my wordpress site because every time I would update, it would disappear the widget and I couldn’t modify, even when it said “Update Changes to Page: This widget has styles that need to be loaded before you can use it. Please save and reload your current page. You will only need to do this once.”

I haven’t found that to be true. Nothing I do gets it back to being useful. I can’t seem to get it to update and work correctly even with all the updates to WordPress, Elementor, or SiteOrigin.

I don’t want to redo my whole site with a new widget. What can I do to make this work? My pages look blank in editor.

Siobhan

    Hi Siobhan

    Thanks for posting your question.

Please, take a screenshot of the widget as you see it in any of the impacted pages while editing, upload the screenshot to imgur.com or any online location and send us the link so we can take a look at the editor setup and try to assist in troubleshooting from there.

    Hi Andrew,

I apologize for the time it took me to get back to you. Here are a few of images where you can see my site has just blank space and no way to edit the SiteOrigin widget. The first is the SiteOrigin image grid and the second is SiteOrigin social media buttons

    Hi Siobhan

    Thanks for the screenshots.

The SiteOrigin Image and Image Grid forms are accessible to me in Elementor for editing. If you open your browser console and click on Errors item in the console, are there any errors related to 503 or server availability in general?

    Here is how to check:

Thanks for the links. No errors showed up relating to 503 or server availability.

    There were warnings:
@elementor/editor-site-navigation – Settings object not found
window.controllers/Controllers is deprecated. Do not use it for UA detection.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Siobhan

I can see the issue with the Image Grid not loading in the Elementor admin; it’s still loading on the front-end. The main issue you’ve described which is separate is the form being blocked. It’s worth running a quick plugin conflict test to rule that out, specifically focussing on the settings form on the left not loading. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Elementor and the Widgets Bundle. With only the two plugins activated, does the form on the left for the Image Grid still not load? If still not loading, keep only the two plugins activated and temporarily switch over to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. The combo of these two tests will help to rule out a plugin and if needed a theme conflict.
