Hey Guys, Awesome theme so far. I am trying to get a short code of a contact form I had built already to layer right align into the slider. I saw in one of your postings which I can not find any longer that you had addressed this issue before and it was not a difficult modification. As I have it now I have a contact form as a sidebar widget, but I want to use form from inbound now plugin as it will allow me to manage leads etc. I am open to using other themes / plugins ..but the idea is to have a simple lead capture form in the full width layout. Thanks..

Hi OD1N
Thanks for your support.
This is a tough challenge for sure. Many plugins like Meta Slider Pro or Layer Slider can handle HTML input as a layer. In the event you need to integrate another slider, besides Meta Slider, into Vantage, just let me know and I can help with that. I don’t know that a slider that offers an HTML layer would be able to process a shortcode though.
Here is a thread discussing this topic with regards to Layer Slider: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/add-a-shortcode-inside-a-layerslider-layer/. What it highlights is you could get the HTML generated by the form plugin and then put that into the HTML layer of a slider.
So going on that you’d need to choose a slider that can handle an HTML layer. Meta Slider Pro, Layer Slider and Revolution Slider should be able to do that, but do check first.
Andrew sorry for the delayed reply – but we had to take a break on this element of the site until now. I am trying to understand the slider integration altogether into the theme. as we intend to purchase one this week and need to know what is our best option vis-a-vis compatibility with Vantage theme. For instance; I see that the most native slider to your theme is meta slider as it is the one option which comes up in create / edit page view in the left side with its own drop down. So it is safe to assume best case scenario insofar as support and integration is meta? It makes no difference for me. My main concern is ease of support form your group and Metaslider team when I will have questions. Thanks.
No problem.
If you just need a big slider on the home page then I can create a child theme for you that can work with Meta Slider, Revolution, Layer Slider, Smart Slider, you name it, even our own Slider Widget. But if you want to put a slider in that same top position on any page then Meta Slider is the best option as we have that integrated nicely into the theme. Meta Slider Pro does have their own premium support package so that’s nice.
Hey Andrew, ok got you my friend. So Meat slider it is. Let me ask you a quick question – I have been seeing a new trend with websites where the landing page ( home page) is a background image or a half page image with the menu on the bottom actually and a html form or widget ( here take a look at these; http://www.thumbtack.com or http://themeforest.net/item/x-the-theme/full_screen_preview/5871901 – I am not a developer but all this really is is changing the layout of the slider ?! My point is I really like your support and the way you guys handle things and would like to know if you can currently make the vantage or any of your themes to be in line with the trend.
Before you upgrade or commit to anything, I just realised this slider question was particularly with regards to placing content on the slider. Please just take a look at Meta Slider’s site and ensure they have an example of doing this somewhere. Otherwise it might be best to look around and find a slider that can do this easily, out the box.
I’ll get back to you on your other questions ASAP tomorrow.
Thanks.
We unfortunately don’t have any themes that match http://www.thumbtack.com/ or similar at the moment
