Elementor Conflict with Site Origin

By gamzehrealty, 4 months ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 4 months ago.

I build a page with site origin and now I am switching to elementor pro.
I am not able to edit some pages with elementor and when I click on edit
with elementor I get to modify a template page and not the same page.
Anyway to fix this issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi, thanks for posting your question.

When I switch over to Elementor from a Classic Page Builder page I see widget shortcodes in a Elementor Text Widget, the Text Widget has a white background but the shortcodes are there if you highlight the area with your cursor. If I add say an Elementor Button Widget below, that’s output. You could use the SiteOrigin Page Builder widget shortcodes in Elementor for now and replace them with Elementor Widgets when ready. I’m unfortunately, not quite sure the template page you’re seeing. Perhaps the white background Text Widget I mentioned covers that, if you click in the Text Widget in Elementor, you should see the widget shortcodes pulled in from your page’s Page Builder content.

It looks like this is only happening to pages that were created with the page template and later were modified.
When I try to edit these pages with elementor it goes to the initial template page.
    Hope this helps. Any thoughts?

    Hi, I Work Here

The forum doesn’t support media but you can upload screenshots to any online location and share the link here. It would be best if we could take a look via a screenshot. The term Page Template has a specific meaning in WordPress (https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/). Without seeing the page I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘the page template’. Page Templates are named and can be added by your theme or plugins. Page Templates are managed via a select dropdown in the right column when editing a page.
