Edit CSS (Free theme)

I have used the Edit CSS feature with Vantage Free. Along the way as I have been teaching myself how to do this, I have come across cautions about losing my changes if the theme gets updated. Do I need to be creating a child theme or is the Edit CSS preserved during upgrades?

    Hi mrogovin

    Thanks for running Vantage.

If you’re using Appearance > Editor then those changes will be lost as you would have been directly editing theme files.

However if you have something like Jetpack Custom CSS, which adds a menu item called Edit CSS under Appearance, then you’re all good. In that case a plugin is storing your CSS separately.

JetPack Edit CSS, not Editor. Thanks!

No problems there at all. My preferred Custom CSS editor too.
