Different masthead on home page vs. interior pages

I am a new user with very little understanding of css / php, and love, love, love the vantage premium theme.
On my home page, I want my masthead to appear a certain way, but on all interior pages I want to use the “logo in masthead” option.
So…my home page masthead – the logo is large and centered over the nav. On my child pages I want the logo much smaller and in the same “row” as the menu (ideally with all the elements aligned to the bottom, but that’s another story :-).
Is there an easy, dummy-proof, step-by-step way of helping me achieve this?
Thanks,
Lara

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lara

Thanks for reaching out. This isn’t possible without custom coding. Please try the below child theme:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/vantage-child-home-masthead.zip

Download the ZIP your desktop and install via Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.

It’s normal for a child theme to reset your menu location and Customizer settings. If the child theme works you’ll need to redo those.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Andrew – I was afraid of that :-( . I actually think now that having the logo in the nav masthead looks really good (and every page) –
but I want my nav bar to v-align: bottom. Is that an easy fix in the *.css for someone like me?

    No problem :)

Unfortunately not. The menu padding is set from the Customizer to be top and bottom. Hopefully you don’t mind it too much that way.
