Custom Post Type Archive

Hi,

So i was having a look here on the support forum for my answer but have not find it.

I Have few custom post types on my web. For each of them I have a custom page template.

Now i wanted to add a Pagination on the bottom of my custom post type page. And i have found out it would not be possible without an Archive page for that certain CPT.

So i moved on to make a archive-cpt.php BUT i do not know what should go in. I know i want it to display the same stuff my template-cpt.php does. But all around the WEB people suggest to just copy the inside of archive.php and add it to the archive-cpt.php and tweak it so it works for you.

So should i just make a file with same code like my template-cpt.php and just name it archive-cpt.php ?

I am bit confused. Also this guy from this thread made me even moooore cofused https://siteorigin.com/thread/modify-the-query-for-loop-using-pre_get_posts/
