Custom CSS classes for rows

I love the plugin so far but I have one big issue with it – it does not allow to add custom css class to rows, the only option is to enter number of columns when adding a row. I have a design that has full width slider and boxed rows – if I add 2 rows both are full width. It would be really cool if you guys can add ‘CSS class’ field on a row adding modal window.

    Hi loookacz

Thanks for your feedback. Definitely something that has been requested. Hopefully it’ll be pushed in a future release. For now though, Page Builder does add unique ID’s per row. For example the Headline Widget here: http://demo.siteorigin.com/vantage/ is in

    #pg-home-0

      Thanks Andrew,
This just does not work, #pg-home-0 can be on multiple pages and I just want to style a row on only one page.
Check the screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/iDlYUXp.jpg I just would like to have “class” or “id” input field on that modal window. This is not a hard addition.

You guys should add the sources to github and allow people to collaborate.

#pg-home-0 is a unique ID that will only be found on the home page. The ID names are pulled from the unique body class so they will be unique per page.

Page Builder is a work in progress so I’m sure we’ll see a custom class feature being launched in the future.

Check out my plugin http://nyinker.com/siteorigin-panels-class.zip it adds classes to Page Builder without modifing the original plugin. If you like it, spread the word ;)

      Hi Tomek
      I just downloaded your plugin
I think it was what I was looking for
But I did not understand how it works…
I need to change the color background of the row (from left external margin to right external margin)
could you pls post an example?
      thank you very much!
      Lucio

Hi Tomek this is superb, it giving me a whole new set op options for my row. Well via css but it doesn’t matter at all. This should be added as default function.

  5. Tomek Cichy 11 years, 3 months ago

@Marcel, what other options should I include there? I’d welcome your feedback ;)

@Marcel, there was a bug there, it didn’t save values on reorder. Just re-download it. Sorry, I just wrote it like 2 days ago ;)

Somebody pointed out that it it is bad cause it adds 2 divs but this is exactly what I face those days. I need the outter div that has full page width per-row background and I need inner div to add i.e bootstrap ‘container’ class to it. In next release I’m planning to add classes to each widget so I could style them differently.

In options.php there is variable pbclass_innerrow_def that I can add my container class to it so I don’t have to do it every time on each row.

    Thanks for writing this Tomek!

Just a very quick note. I’ve been working on Page Builder 1.6 over the last month or so. We’re adding a lot of commonly requested features and row classes are in there – along with a lot of other cool features. We’ll be releasing more details in the next few weeks.

    @Tomek
yep I saw it, wasn’t saving, glad you resolved this.
Re. options, man can do most with css, but for the ease of use maybe integrate some of them into this popup if it goes?

    @Greg
Tomek saved me for now. but it would be usefull to have those “must have” features … in the free version? ;)

Everything will be in the free version. We’re not currently working on a premium version :)

I appreciate a lot, when people do something with joy, for their own pleasure, for others pleasure.

Thank you both for that, I know it costs time….

@Marcel, I don’t mind that when these options get implemented, this little thing I wrote becomes obsolete. The Page Builder is a great tool and I just cannot express how many great things I built with it. I just wanted to give sth back to the community ;)

@Greg, If the ver 1.6 comes out in a couple of weeks, between now and then you can promote my plugin in any way you want, I don’t want any credit. Couple of weeks is a long time, maybe it will make life easier for some people in between.

Anyway, as an UX designer, it is always nice for me to code a bit ;)

Personally, I think that content editing is most overlooked feature across all CMS-es and and I get surprised how easy we fall into out-of-the-box solutions. I think that people will always make best of what they get and anything that helps express human creativity has a future. I think there is a room for even a better Page Builders in the future. Although I would rather see the content editing in general to go more into DTP like tools than some compromises and bootstrap things. But it is just me ;)

Great work all of you here at Site Origin.

    Anyway, I’ll keep you posted.

    Hi,
Great to see that you all are working on this. Really need this too.

@Tomek. I downloaded your plugin. Unfortunetally it breaks the Layerslider element on my page. As soon as I activate the layerslider (with quotes) it becomes 25% of the page width and moves to the right. Before is was 100% wide.

Hopefully PageBuilder 1.6 is ready soon and will work with Layerslider.

Reading my post and I need to clarify I meant “as soon as I activate the row class plugin by Tomek it breaks the Layerslider element”.
