Creating a heagon grid

Hey all,
thanks for this great plugin. I’m a beginner so the question may seem silly, but would it be possible to use this plugin to create a hexagonial grid? Three or four rows with a maximum of four hexes in a row would be enough. Attached is a screenshot of what I have and how it should look. In my version not only there’s a gap between rows (I know it can be deleted) but the bottom row would have to be way up to create the “locked” grid. The hexes itself are inserted images (with links leading to different pages). What you see in the picture is a top row with three images and a bottom row with two columns and padding-left/right: 35%. Is there a way of creating such pattern via css or any other method?
Thanks!
