I love your theme. It is very clean and easy to work with. I love having multiple galleries on one page. Load time even with a lot of png files is very fast. Thanks for your hard work.

One additional capability that I would like to have is more than one blog page. I need an author’s blog and a blog page to post photographic tips. Posts would be categorized and appear on the appropriate page. Now categories can be set up and chosen on the post but no category field appears on the create page page.

Website is photosbylorena.com

URL: http://photosbylorena.com

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Bob

    Thanks for your positive feedback.

Using our Page Builder plugin you can add a Post Loop widget per page. The last field of that widget is Additional. There you can add an argument like:

    cat=x

Where x is the category ID you want to display. You can also comma separate multiple ID’s.

Alternatively you can just add Link items to your menu. When you publish a post click on the Author and or category link. You’ll see there is an archive page for each. You can link directly to that archive page from the menu.

I can not restrict posts to appropriate pages. All posts appear on both the Blog page and the Snapshot Tips page. I have done the following:
    – Changed categories to blog and tips to have single words. I assume the cat=x in your directions above means that x can be a whole word not a number or single letter.
    – Added the Post Loop widget to the two pages Blog and Snapshot Tips using the Post Loop widget in Page Builder.
    – Under customize changed the Static Front Page and selected Posts page = -Select-

    Hi, I Work Here

cat=x is the ID or ID’s (comma separated) of the blog posts you want to display. It should be an integer. To get this ID go to Posts > Categories in WordPress and view a category. In the url you’ll see a number, that number is the category ID. Please re-try the setup with this in mind.

Thank you, Andrew. Your suggestion made it possible to restrict categories to specific pages. However, one of those pages is now displaying a gallery of photos as a series of photos running down the page rather than as a carousel. Again URL is photosbylorena.com and I renamed the page to Author’s Page.

    Hi, I Work Here

    For sure.

So it looks like that page is pulling a single post. The template is Blog. That post doesn’t have a more tag added: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ so the full content of the post is being displayed. That would be my guess as to what’s going on there.

Thank you, Andrew. What you say makes sense. I am trying to use Pagebuilder for the Gallery and also was using it for the text.

I tried deleting the PB text block and just use the Gallery (PB) to display the gallery but all of the images still show individually rather than working as a carousel. If I have text and a gallery to display would I use both the Text (PB) and the Gallery (PB) and if so how do I get to the “more” tool?

Sorry to be taking up so much of your time, but I intend to use your theme for other clients as well. Are there any more capabilities in the Premium Origami theme that address my issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

Rather use the Visual Editor widget as it’s much more flexible: http://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/.

To get a nice square thumb or tiled gallery going use: http://jetpack.me/support/tiled-galleries/, to get a carousel going use: http://jetpack.me/support/carousel/. Hope that helps.

Thank you, Andrew. That worked fine. I appreciate all of your help.
