Contact Form – input text font color not set

Hi, I set the input font color to a dark color using the widget — but on the live contact form the font is a light gray that is barely readable. From reading the forum, it looks like 10 months ago the input text color selector was added to the widget but it does not seem for me to be applied to the published site. Any suggestions for troubleshooting or fixes much appreciated. Thank you, John
