I have comments turned on, as well as on the pages they should be showing up on. I know comments at one point in time were working, but now they do not display on the bottom of pages.
This particular page, which has 1028 comments, shows the comment box but no comments above it:

Hacking around in the vantage theme I’ve found the have_comments() function is returning FALSE. If I make the conditional on themes/vantage/comments.php line 22 TRUE, it shows the text “1028 Comments”, but does not show the actual comments. I am assuming it is something within the wp_list_comments(…) function on line 41 preventing the comments from showing, which is probably related to the have_comments() returning FALSE.
Is there anything I can try to get the comments to return?

(I’m sure you know, but, a quick reminder to not make any changes to the Vantage parent theme code as all WP themes completely overwrite during the theme update process. If code changes are required, a child theme should be used.)
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

It appears my comments have started appearing again today. It looks like it was fixed with today’s version release of the plugin Akismet. I’m not sure if Akismet was at fault, but it’s back. Thank you for your help, and I apologize for taking your time.
