Clicking Save button does nothing.

Hi,

Just installed a theme which uses your plugin. Before activating the plugin, I could choose “home page” and turn it on – which showed a default static page. It said “install PageBuilder” to customize.

After installing PageBuilder I saw the same “home page” button so I clicked it to turn it on. It redirects to the main page, which remains the non-custom one. Just the normal WordPress front page.

It seems that the button isn’t working.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi David

Not 100% with you, let me run through some background here – it might help.

We recently changed (to meet WP guidelines) the Appearance > Home Page functionality. What it does now is create a mirror page under Pages called Home. So you can basically edit your Appearance > Home Page there OR under Pages > Home. Turning Appearance > Home Page ON also now sets that page as a static home page under Settings > Reading.

So in summary, the Appearance > Home Page system now fits nicely into what you’d expect in terms of a static home page in WordPress.

The one thing you can check in Vantage is, go to Page > Home and make sure that page has the Page Template in the right column set to Page Builder Home and not Blog.

Wow! Thanks for the fast reply Andrew.

When I clicked the “home page” button it doesn’t create a page called home. It doesn’t make any page. In addition under settings/reading, it hasn’t been changed to “static home page”.

I went to one of our previously existing pages and looked on the right side at templates and “PageBuilder Home” is there as a template – but I hadn’t looked there before so can’t say if it was always there since activating Vantage.

Since the “click” wasn’t working for me, I instead made a static page called “home” and chose the “PageBuilder Home” template. Inserted a “prebuilt template” and am able to make it work now.

So I guess the takeaway is that the “home page” button did not (for me) make a mirror page called home, and didn’t effect the settings/reading. However, I was able to apply the template to a page I made manually.

(I may have missed something, however if I didn’t it might prove helpful to know about the issue.)

At any rate, thanks for the FAST reply and thanks for wanting to help – I appreciate it.

    David

    Hi, I Work Here

    No problem.

Sorry, you need to Save your Custom Home Page then those actions should take place. Should!

Thanks for your feedback, we’ll definitely do some extra testing over the weekend.

Your secondary setup is what I would have recommended and is functionality the same thing so nicely done there.

All the best with your project.
