Clearing page content not working

After removing all widgets and rows and pressing “update”, I would expect the page to simply go blank. However, the editor defaults back to the text editor and still has all the html content within it. This means I have to clear the editor one more time to get a blank page.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or just default behavior. IMHO, this is clearly a bug.

    Hi Jess

A bug indeed! Thanks for reporting. Logging it now. We’ll attend as soon as possible and include the fix in the first update available once the fix is complete.

    Ah! Thanks :)

Actually, I would argue that the post_content field shouldn’t be populated at all with Page Builder content. It gets a bit troublesome, especially when using custom widgets with dynamic content (ie. visitor specific data from external webservices).

    Hi, I Work Here

For sure :) Confirmed the bug has been logged.

Have you tried turning that setting off at Settings > Page Builder > Content > Copy Content. This functionality was put there for plugins like WordPress SEO that search through the post content to fetch data etc.

I didn’t even know that setting existed :D It’s on by default so that makes sense. Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

That’s it, on by default, mostly because of how popular WordPress SEO is. Glad to hear it helps :)

All the best with your site. We’ll have the main topic of this thread resolved in a bug fix as soon as we can squeeze it in.
