child theme

By Leon Hughes, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

Hello,

I would like to create a child theme based on vantage and have found a link on your website that links to the WordPress standard site for creating child themes.

Could you tell me the exact header details and file imports I need to put in the style.css to make your vantage theme fully compatible with a child theme as I cant seem to get this to work.

Thanks,

leon

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Leon

    Glad you fixed the problem. Here is a basic example for anyone else that needs it:

    /*
     Theme Name:     Vantage Child
     Author:         SiteOrigin
     Template:       vantage
     Version:        1.0.0
    */

    @import url("../vantage/style.css");

    Hi I cannot seem to get the child theme code working. I’ve copied and pasted your code above and tried two or three times but still can’t get it to pull in the style.css Has anyone else had this problem? What can I try to fix it.

    Hi Vicki

    I’d be glad to help, please open a new ticket and include the CSS you currently have in the stylesheet of your child theme. Please also confirm you have Vantage parent installed.

    Please send the above in a new thread.
    Thanks.
