Hi
im trying to change the colour of one line of text within a text widget, using site origin page builder.
Vantage Premium theme.
Wordpress 4.2.2
Page Builder by Site Origin
Black studio tiny MCE widget
Process:
Select “Pages”
Select “edit” of page ( in this case about us)
Select “edit” of the text widget
This shows the “Title” box and “main text” box
I need to edit the colour of one line of text within the main text box
the link to page is here http://www.routetelecom.co.uk/about-us/
If I click on “Editor” it opens the “Visual”, “Text” “page builder” tags.
I can change the colour of the text within the visual editor, but when i update it doesnt save it
Am i missing something?
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks in advance
Mark
Ive answered my own question!!!!
i was using the standard text widget rather than the visual editor widget
Its been a long day!!!
All working
Hi Mark
On the page linked you are using basic text widgets rather than the Visual Editor but you can still achieve the result you want.
please try wrapping the line of text to be changed in span tags with an inline style like this
You can change the colour code to any hex colour value. If you need to find the value for a specific colour you can generate that here
http://html-color-codes.info/#HTML_Color_Picker
Let us know how you get on

Hi Magus
thanks for you reply. Got that problem sorted.
Now im experiencing another issue that may be related. The text dosent display correctly on screen.
It seems to cut off part of the word at the edge of the text box, rather than transfer the entire word to the next line.
On the same page linked above, the Company Philosophy text seems ok. But the Vission and Mission text doesnt
Its aligned left with automatically add paragraphs selected.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark Ashman
The Default behaviour is to break the line on the word, not the letter. I have tested and cannot replicate the issue.
This looks like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Thanks

Hi Mark
As another thought, would it be possible for you to switch to text view for that widget and post the contents here inside of code tabs as shown below the comment box.
Thanks
Magus
Hi Magus
i tried the plugin solution mentioned above, which unfortunately didnt work.
The text from text view is copied below:

Hi Mark
You forgot to wrap the code into tags so I am not seeing the expected result. Could you possibly repost and wrap the code into tags like this
Thanks

Hi Mark Ashman
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Thanks
Magus
