Changes in pages content, header/footer widget and plugins are not reflected in website

Changes I make in the header or footer, adding or repositioning a widget, are not reflected on the website. Sometimes going through all pages and pressing Preview and then Update does the change, but with 20 pages this is frustrating.

This happens also with other changes like when quick-editing the page title (SEO title -with SEO pluging) in the pages, i need to do the same. That is, go through all pages, press Preview and then Update.

Do I need to change something in my php handling settings of my host?

Hi. Is this perhaps a caching issue? Please try updating a page and then viewing it in another browser or clearing your cache first. Additionally if you’re running a performance/caching plugin within WordPress you could try clearing your cache after making an update or disabling the plugin while working.

Thank you for the reply but unfortunately no, I tried setting the WP-Members widget in footer area. It looked just fine with only clicking “save”. Then when I tried to remove it I tried everything you mentioned but ultimately I had to go to a page, click preview and then update for the changes to take place. Now some pages have the widget on their footer and some dont!! I have to go to each one by one! Total disappointment :( Is there something else? BTW What setting should I have for the php version handling in bluehost settings?

Not sure re: your last question. Please head to Dashboard > Updates and update everything, then head to Plugins and temporarily disable all plugins, if the issue resolves activate plugins one at time while checking the problem.

Andrew you saved my day. I had a caching plugin installed a while ago and forgot it even existed. Seens to be working smoothly now. Much obliged!!! Have a nice day

Not a problem. Glad you were able to find the plugin. All the best.
