Changes in a Visual Editor Widget not reflecting when I do Preview Changes

Changes in a Visual Editor Widget are not reflecting when I do Preview Changes
I’m not sure if this is a question for SiteOrigin Page Builder or about my theme “Weaver II” or about WP in general, but here goes:

I have one page (and only one!) where the “Preview Changes” (P.C.) button does not work right.
If I update the text in a Visual Editor widget of PageBuilder and then press “Preview Changes”, the new tab that opens to show the preview continues to show me an older version of the page.
If I click “Update”, I can go out to the actual site and see the changes, but the P.C. button continues to show me the old version.
The only way it seems I can get the PC option to work is to not only hit update, but leave that page editor and come back. THEN the PC option becomes current. But won’t reflect further changes.

The page I’m updating is http://speaker.miloshapiro.com/milo-shapiro-hometest/ but I’m not sure if that’s going to help you since you can’t see the preview page…only the published one.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Addendum: I was mistaken in thinking it’s only that page. It appears to be any page using Visual Editor widgets in Page Builder. But Preview works when I update pages that don’t use Page Builder. So it does seem to be a PB issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Milo

Sorry for the hassle, there is unfortunately a known bug with Page Builder and WordPress Preview function. We have it logged on our side. We’ll attend as soon as possible. Sorry we don’t have more for now.

Andrew, what a relief! I’ve been so eager for an answer other than, “It must be something with your computer / your hosting / your account set-up.” Thought I was going to be alone on this.
Knowing it’s being worked on is 90% of this. The only remaining questions are:
    1) Will I wake up to find the problem is just gone suddenly one day?
    2) Or will it require an upgrade to a newer version? If so, will I just have to hope I run across in my add-ons that a newer version is available (I rarely go to that screen)? Or is there a way I could be notified when that upgrade is available?

It’s been quite a struggle because the only way to see changes is to publish them and, in a few cases, I really messed things up, but undoing them was challenging. Preview mode would have taken care of this.

If there’s any chance of a note here when the upgrade is available (if that’s the fix), I’d sure love that.
    Thanks!

Andrew, any progress on this? I’m literally holding off on developing a new site because I really want to use Page Builder but it’s going to be too much of a hassle going back and forth if I can’t do previews along the way. Had hoped that such a glaring bug would get a high priority and some top attention. I’m sure almost everyone who uses PB also uses Preview. Thanks so much!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Milo

Sorry for missing your reply two months back.

Have you taken a look at Page Builder 2.0+ yet. We’ve made some epic changes, one of them being live editing.

Here is some more info: Page: Live Editor

Page Builder 2.0 including a big refactor of code, as far as we know the preview issue has been resolved. We haven’t had any reports of the problem since 2.0 was released.

Give new Page Builder a go and let us know what you think.

I was on 2.0.5 and it was definitely not working.
In fact, the problem started specifically when i upgraded to a version in the 2.0 range.

In checking what version I was on, though, I saw that there’s now a 2.1 out there. Figured there was no harm in upgrading to that and, happily, with 2.1, this critical function appears to work again.

    Thanks Andrew!
