Hello,
I would like to know is it possible to change the theme name in the source code for when business competitors are looking it up in web browsers. Also is it possible to hide style.css file from the source code. I am a Vantage Premium customer and it is imperative to me that my business web page is protected in such a way, that rival businesses are unable to track its progress.
With Kind Regards,

Hi pgcarpets
You’d need to test this all out but I’d imagine you’d:
1. Re-name the theme folder to some other name, you can do this via FTP at /wp-content/themes/
2. Try running a caching plugin like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/ and try enabling CSS minifcation. This would remove all comments like the theme name from front-end viewable CSS.
This is just what I wanted too, So I did a quick test. The theme got broken and I activated Vantage Premium again, but it looks like all vantage settings was lost, so I just went back before I mess up everything.
Do you think it is only to first export all settings and then import it again and we are good to go with renamed folder?
Sorry about that. Let me get a quick consult on my side. I’ll come back to you asap on this.
Ok so I chatted to Greg about this now. His advice was pretty much the same as mine. Did you try changing the theme folder name via FTP? That in conjunction with a minification plugin should do the trick.
I did not add the minification plugin, I will try that later.
For sure. That’ll help completely remove all CSS comments.
I’ve changed the theme name with FTP client, however all widgets got shuffled and my logo disappeared. i put everything back in its place and now all is working fine. I do hope that it keeps working correctly with this theme name change and that it won’t cause any problems in future. Thanks a lot for your help Andrew, it’s very much appreciated.
Sorry to hear about the hassle. Hopefully everything is in order moving forward. All the best.
