Can’t Customize the Vantage Footer

Hi, I’m working on a client’s site and I can not make any changes to the footer – including adding copyright info on the “General” page tab.

I also went to customize – widgets – footer and nothing happened there either.

Widgets don’t seem to work.

We are using the free version and right now the footer has 1 line:A Siteorigin Theme.

Am I able to do anything else with this footer?

    Hi Melodye

    You can add copyright info from Appearance > Theme Settings > General: Site Information Text.

    If widgets aren’t appearing in the footer when added to Appearance > Widgets > Footer you’ll need to troubleshoot:

    1. Run any updates pending at Dashboard > Updates.
    2. Temporarily de-activate all non SiteOrigin plugins and re-test.
    3. Change over to another theme, delete Vantage and then re-install the theme if non of the above works.

    I added a child theme for Vantage and I am working from that. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

    You should revert to the parent theme and re-test. That’ll let you know if the child theme is causing the problem.
