Cannot work on pages

By OT, 2 months ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 2 months ago.

Hi

A couple of weeks ago a major problem started on my site: I can no longer update my pages. The site still shows up fine on the front end for the users but I can’t make any modifications on my pages anymore on the back end. When I open a page and click to modify any SiteOrigin Editors widget, the modification page uploads but I get a “Oops! That page can’t be found.” Any attempt at saving the page after a modification elsewhere on w other parts of the page results in the same outcome.

I’m running WordPress 6.8, Tessaract Theme 2.5.5 with a couple of pluggins which I already tried to deactivate one by one to check any conflict with SiteOrigin. Every pluggin is maintained up to date (including your Page Builder and Widget Bundle) and the small list hasn’t changed in some times. In the meantime, I’ve started to use the block editor and it works. It’s not the same, but it works.

My first idea would be a problem/conflict with the theme but it worked for years now. And before getting into changing that and the implications of doing so, not even knowing if it’ll solve the problem, I wanted to check with you.

Can you help me please to resolve this situation.

Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi

Thanks for posting your query. The issue most likely relates to a block from your server. When the issue occurs, when you see the Oops, you can open the browser console as follows: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-javascript/#step-3-diagnosis, take a screenshot and open a ticket with your hosts or perhaps give them a call if that’s convenient. Kindly explain the sequence of events and ask if they can check their ModSecurity or similar firewall logs for blocks (false positives in this case). Some hosts offer ModSecurity or firewall as a setting in the hosting control panel, in that case you can disable the feature and re-test.

In the Block Editor you’re welcome to make use of all SiteOrigin Widgets as individual blocks as well as Page Builder in the form of the SiteOrigin Layouts Block.
