Cannot Use CSS Plugin

Hello everyone and thank you for doing such an amazing job with your plugins!

I have been using Siteorigin’s plugins for quite some time now, but never before the CSS Editor.

I was in need of it so I installed it on one of my pages and the problem is: It doesn’t work…

I can install and activate it with no problems but when I try to edit a page it simply doesn’t allow me to select the section to edit, meaning it doesn’t highlight the section and clicking on it doesn’t do the trick either.

I can navigate with the sidebar there but it never activates anything.

How can I solve this? I really need this editor.

Thanks in advance, best regards.
Joe.

PS – I did look for the answer before asking, both documentation and forums but no answer came up.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alosd,

This sounds like a browser issue. Sometimes browser extensions and plugins can cause issues with the CSS editor. Could you please try the CSS editor in a different browser?

Hi Alex and thank you for your reply.

I tried but no luck :/

What else could be causing this issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alosd,

It’s possible it’s a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex, good news!

I found the culprit! W3 Total Cache.

I don’t know in what way it interferes but it does. I tried emptying all caches to see if that did the trick but no. If it’s active it will break SO CSS :/

    I really like W3 though…

Is there some documentation on this issue? Do you know of a workaround?

    Thanks again Alex!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alosd,

I’ve run some tests and unable to replicate this. Could you send me an export of your W3 settings? To go this open up your WordPress admin, navigate to PerformanceGeneral Settings. In the Import / Export Settings group is an option to export your configuration. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io and send me the link.
