BWP Recaptcha not displaying when Page Builder is activated

Hi,

I have a row of 3 columns that each have a visual editor with a Contact Form 7 “shortcode” along with the BWP Recatcha shortcode and it just will not load the recaptcha when the pagebuilder plugin is active. As soon as I deactivate the pagebuilder plugin the recaptcha loads but then obviously my page is not as I want it.

You can check it out here: http://ntsolutions.co.za/contact/

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Trevor

    Greetings from Cape Town :)

Please, don’t forget to insert your premium order number in the field provided next time you post a thread. We’ll be able to get to you a little sooner.

If you have a moment, please, could you test CF7 and BWP in the sidebar widget area. That’s a good start. In order for plugins to work in Page Builder they first need to function in normal widget areas. If they don’t then they definitely won’t work in Page Builder.

Page Builder incompatibility, unfortunately, isn’t usually something we can fix in the short term. Most times a fix has to be made by the plugin developer in order to achieve compatibility with the way Page Builder handles widgets. As Page Builder grows in popularity we’re seeing fewer conflicts.

Let me know how the test goes. Thanks :)

    Hi Andrew,

    Apologies for the late reply.

I totally forgot that I actually bought the Vantage theme which is why I didn’t put in my order number. Thank you for reminding me.

I have gone ahead and added the Contact Form 7 shortcode to a sidebar Visual Editor and it seems to work. You can view it here: http://ntsolutions.co.za/sidebar-test-page/

Let me know what steps to take next.

    Thank you :)

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for running that test. It’s an important one as it establishes that a widget/plugin is working in a regular widget area to begin with.

I ran another test this morning with CF7 and BWP and all seems well. Could you perhaps run another test for us?

    Here is how I’m looking:

    Hi Andrew,

Not a problem. What other test would like me to do? Also, I don’t understand what you are trying to show my in that picture.

    Thanks :)

    Hi, I Work Here

The screenshot is showing cf7 using the captcha in page builder. Are you still seeing the same issue? All looks normal on my side.

  7. 9 years, 23 days ago Trevor Botha

On the page http://ntsolutions.co.za/sidebar-test-page/ it is showing the captcha but the captcha’s are not loading on the page http://ntsolutions.co.za/contact/

On the sidebar test page the Contact Form 7 is on a Sidebar widget with Visual Editor widget and on the Contact page they are loaded straight into the page builder widgets place with a visual editor widget.

    Hi, I Work Here

Was on my phone earlier hence the short reply. Sorry for the lack of detail. My screenshot, if you look at the source closely, shows Page Builder markup. I was trying to show that my form and captcha were loading in PB.

So to summarise, I can’t re-create the issue.

Have you tried testing with all plugins de-activated except for Page Builder, CF7 and Captcha. If that test fails then, please, send a set of admin login details so we can take a look. Instructions for that to follow.

    Hi, I Work Here

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi Andrew,

Sure, I just created it. It said a password reset link would be sent to you.

If you need to, check under setting for the under construction thingy.

    Thank you very much :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Here we go:

    http://ntsolutions.co.za/test-page/

    Working.

The above page is working with all other plugins off. If you can, please, hop on now and slowly re-activate your plugins one by one, after each activation, check the problem. Slow test but the only way to find the conflicting plugin. Once that’s done we can hopefully suggest an alternative.

    Hi Andrew,

    Doing it now. Thanks. :)

    Hi, I Work Here

Awesome. Let me know what you find.

  16. 9 years, 23 days ago Trevor Botha

Okay, looks like it’s Yoast SEO that’s causing this. Will my SEO still be fine even if the plugin is deactivated?

  17. 9 years, 23 days ago Andrew Misplon
    Hi, I Work Here

Ahh that’s a bummer. Ideally keep Yoast. It helps. Any other captchas we can use for CF7?

  18. 9 years, 23 days ago Trevor Botha

I’m not too sure. I like that one because of the “I’m not a robot” thing. I have no idea if other’s have it as well.

If I keep Yoast active and deactivate page builder it works, so I think it’s something between Yoast and Page Builder that’s not liking it.

    Hi, I Work Here

That’s it. A three way issue. Always tough.

    Two options:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7-recaptcha-extension/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-captcha/

OR look to go captcha free and try a honeypot:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7-honeypot/

  20. 9 years, 23 days ago Trevor Botha

What’s a honeypot? The only reason I really want the captcha is because of spam.

  21. 9 years, 23 days ago Andrew Misplon
    Hi, I Work Here

Honeypots, if they work, are they way to go. It inserts a field that is hidden to people but visible in the source code. If that field gets filled out then you know it’s a bot because the field isn’t visible to users. Give it a try. If it works then it’s a nicer user experience for your visitors.

    Hi, I Work Here

Reviews are looking good on that plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/contact-form-7-honeypot?filter=5

Definitely worth a try. Can always switch back if you aren’t happy.

  23. 9 years, 23 days ago Trevor Botha

Alright, I’ll give that a try. If I’m still having trouble I will see if the guys at Yoast can’t give this a look.

Thank you very much for your help man :)

    Also, greetings from KZN :)
