I was testing my website yesterday and discovered that the SiteOrigins Features icons are showing up as emoji on iOS. You can see that here (look under “what we do) if you visit on iOS using Safari and also on any other browser.
I am using the theme Flash by Theme Grill with SiteOrigins Widget plugin installed.
Hi G
Thanks for posting.
I only see the issue in iOS Safari, I can’t replicate it in iOS Chrome or MacOS Chrome or Safari. I’ll come back to you, just need to find out why this might be happening.
In iOS Safari, the problem appears temporary, if I leave the page open for a bit, the icons load and replace the emojis.
Logged here: https://github.com/siteorigin/so-widgets-bundle/issues/857. Thanks for reporting.
A quick follow-up. I’m currently unable to replicate the problem. Here is a demo layout with the same icons: https://demo.siteorigin.com/corp/icons/. I’m using Safari Private browsing. Can you please, check to see if the issue persists if you:
1. Clear any caching/optimization plugins and then temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins. Does the issue persist in this state?
2. If the issue does persist, leave all non-SiteOrigin plugins deactivated and temporarily switch to the default theme Twenty Seventeen, does the issue persist?
Hi :)
If you have a moment, we have a testing version of the Widgets Bundle ready for you here: https://github.com/siteorigin/so-widgets-bundle/issues/857. If you’re able to take a look, that would be great. Thanks.
