Blur Transparency and Centred Search Icon

Hey Guys,
Could you help me with two problems.
I want my page to flow under header with menu and logo. But I want it to be transparent with blurry effect.
1. How to make blur transparency on a header and menu ?
2. How to vertically align search button/ widget with menu buttons?
3. Why when transparency is on, it doesn’t look like white but like grey? I want white blurry transparent header.
