Block Editor Error

My issue is that SiteOrigin Layout will not load in a WP Block.
When I try and add it I get this error:
“The block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”
I have deactivated all SiteOrigin plug-ins and re-activated them with no change.
Any Suggestions ?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Craig

Thanks for reaching out on the blog and for opening a support thread. Please, could you try the below steps and let us know how it goes. Thanks :)

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Thank you Andrew for responding.

Yes, I have tried removing all the plugins and clearing my browser cache, to no avail.

Just FYI, I am using the Bento Theme, though I don’t see how that would affect this. Aren’t we just dealing with the block editor and plugins when creating a page?

Further FYI, I chatted with a Word Press tech yesterday. He felt that it was a plugin issue, but what was interesting is that he had the same error when looking at my site. Wouldn’t that eliminate the cache issue as he is using a different computer on a different network and server?

I am at a loss as the SiteOrigin plugins have been working fine in the classic editor. It is only the block editor that is not behaving.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the feedback :)

If you haven’t yet tested with all other plugins deactivated and Twenty Seventeen theme activated, please do so. That’s the full baseline test for both front and admin issues. The issue looks related to Bento.

(Caching issues refer both to browser and website caching done via plugin or third-party service.)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Craig

When you get a moment, please could you reach out to Bento and let them know about this problem. The issue might be related to admin-scripts.js. If I prevent that file from being enqueued in Bento, the SiteOrigin Layout Block works. They can perhaps look there first. I’m sure they’ll be able to resolve quickly once they know about the issue.

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew…
Just a quick Thank You. I forwarded your suggestion to the Bento developers. They were very appreciative and it corrected the problem. So thanks all around.
