Hello.
I see a thread in which Andrew Misplon helped users with the issue of the Yoast SEO (free) not “reading”text etc. within the Visual seeing copy inside “Visual Editor” widgets.
I have a website with 85 pages (so far) and a couple dozen posts. I love Visual Editor because I can adjust the widths of the boxes and add images etc. I work exclusively in them entering html because I like working with the nuts and bolts of the text and images.
With Yoast SEO, the assessment guides at the bottom of the page will indicate “there are 0 words on this page,” despite there being as many as 2,000, broken up among 10 or more Visual Editor widgets, and it will say “0 images,” despite there being four or five large jpgs.
So obviously, I would like to use Yoast to help me improve SEO. More to the point, however, is Yoast’s inability to see through the “widget walls” and count words and images a reflection of Google and search engines’ inability to find my copy? Or does it just mean that Yoast can’t provide assessments and it makes no material difference to how Google and search engines perceive what’s going on.
Here is the website’s home page and an inner page with several widgets containing text and and images.
Hi Crisgross
Thanks for reaching out.
Yoast’s inability to see content in Page Builder hosted widgets doesn’t mean that Google bots can’t crawl that same content on your site’s front end. So to confirm, this challenge is about Yoast’s analysis tool which will help you improve your content. Yoast should be working with Page Builder.
Please, go to Settings > Page Builder > Content and ensure the Copy Content setting is enabled. If it is, please, send us a backup of one of the pages that’s experiencing this problem. Here is how:
1. Go to Pages > The page in question.
2. Click over to the Page Builder tab.
3. Click PrebuiltImport/ExportDownload Layout.
4. Send us the JSON file via the Add Media button just above the forum comment field. If you have any problems with that, please, upload to any public location like Dropbox and send the link so we can download.
We’ll take a look and hopefully find the problem :)
Thanks. I do these two things later today for the sample page I provided.
All 85 pages are built the same way. I still need to build another 40 or so just to move all my old Dreamweaver site into WordPress before moving forward with reviews for 2016 (. . . and beyond!).
But it's good to know this Yoast deal is about assessment and not facilitation.
Cheers.
Hello.
It says I can reply to this email, so I'm going to do that.
My "Copy Content" setting was NOT enabled and I thought that might do it,
but it didn't change anything. At least not so far.
I went into the Prebuilt Import/Export and Downloaded Layout as a json file and since it's only 37 KB I'm attaching it here. It was rejected as the wrong file type when I tried to send it via the Add Media button. I also opened the json and took the contents to save as an RTF txt file and do the
Add Media with that, but it just kept crunching, which seemed crazy given it is 37 KB. It looks like it might have BEEN uploaded. So maybe you can see it. I'm adding that here too.
Thanks.
Ahh, sorry about that.
You might need to resave each page now that you’ve enabled the Copy Content setting. Try resaving any one page and then check the WordPress SEO report. If there is no change then,pPlease, try sending us the JSON file using a service like:
https://www.wetransfer.com/
Email attachments, unfortunately, aren’t yet supported on the forums.
I’m having the same issues although i’ve created all the pages with copy content enabled.
Yoast is stating there are 0 words…..
Is there allready a solution found for this problem? I’ve seen many treads about the problem but no solution so far….
Hi Peter
We’ll respond in your thread. Thanks.
