I’m about to throw in the towel on Contact Form 7. I had been using it for years on an old site that was using one of the older WordPress default themes and it always worked flawlessly.
The site needed a new up-to-date look, and so went with Vantage. In general I like it, but it has it’s quirks.
I’m running into the notorious “spinning arrows” issue when a site visitor submits a form with Contact Form 7. The mail sends okay, it’s just that the arrows spin continuously and so the site visitor thinks that it hasn’t been sent and of course sends again and again! From online searches, I’ve found that this is a pretty common Contact Form 7 problem.
I’ve tried disabling Ajax form submission on a private test page. That does indeed work, but it quickly flashes a text page of e-mail form submission data for a few seconds across the screen. So, it’s kind of an “ugly” solution and I can’t really use it.
My form needs are fairly simple. Once someone submits a form I need it to fire off an e-mail message to the appropriate staff, send an automated response to the form submitter and collect the form info in a .csv file.
If anyone has any good ideas on form plugins that “work out of the box” with Vantage, I’m all ears!
Thanks!
