Allowed to bundle with themes?

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

Hi folks,

Nice work with the builder. Looking for something a little more lightweight to Visual Composer.

A few things…

1. How straightforward to create new blocks for this?
2. Are we allowed (per Envatos policies) to bundle this as a plugin with themes for sale?
3. Is this a much lighter plugin than VC?

Many thanks

    Hi guuthemes

Thanks for reaching out. We’re slowly getting better setup to help theme devs. Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle are on GitHub and we’ll be developing filter and or extension options for the Widgets Bundle soon to help the extendability of that plugin.

You can bundle Page Builder but we’d usually suggest prompting for install so that your clients pull the latest version.

Page Builder works off widgets so any widgets you package with your theme can be used in Page Builder. If you have any problem with widgets in Page Builder, please check our guide here: https://siteorigin.com/docs/page-builder/widget-compatibility/.

I wish I could tell you more about Page Builder vs VC, I unfortunately haven’t spent much time using VC, I don’t think the rest of the team has either. Sorry we don’t have more on that point.
