All content from my other pages is now on my homepage

I was looking for a way to remove a sidebar from a new testimonial page/plugin I had just put together (Sola Testimonial), so I found this thread about how to do it:

Remove side bar from blog page

Although this did remove the sidebar, it has now really messed up my homepage, with all the content from other pages now in a big long list on the homepage. I have tried to adjust things in the page builder, but can’t get rid of it. I even asked my domain provider (Just Host) to reset the page to how it was previously, which did work initially, but as soon as I added the testimonial widget again I have all this extra content on my homepage again.

I have removed the widget and even deactivated it and just can’t get it back to the way it was.

I think it is something to do with the CSS code I put in originally, but if you have any ideas on how to solve the issue it would be greatly appreciated!

Give this a try; go to Appearance->Customize. Last menu item should be static home page, open that up. If “front page Displays a static home page is not checked, check it. Then check to see that the name of your static home page is displayed in the dropdown right below that. Go back to the top of the menu and save, and see if that fixes it.

I’m afraid not. Static page is ticked and both the drop downs are correct and say ‘Home’.

I’ve clicked off them and and back on again, but still not solved the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion though :).

In fact it doesn’t matter what page I put as the ‘static page’ – I just changed it to the ‘About’ page and nothing changed.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ryan8703

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

I’ve activated the ‘maintenance’ plugin again as I would prefer if the site was not visible too long like this, now that you are an admin do you still need this off and it made public?

    Hi Ryan

Can you double check that you sent the login details. I haven’t seen them come through. Maybe you could just post them here as a private reply.
