    Hi phil

    The logo link is pulled from your site url so it’s unfortunately not something that can be individually set. On the whole users expect the top left image, the logo to take them home. It might be worth considering using the logo area for the logo / banner that you have in your slider. That would be a bit more inline with design patterns.

    hi Andrew, the logo now in the slider was indeed previously placed as you suggest BUT then i was struggling to get clear contact numbers into the masthead area – simply adding text whether via the logo area or via the visual editor does not appear to allow anything other than plain (and quite small) text.

    Is there a way to enhance the text – ie as I have done by including the text as an image?

    Sure.

    Try using the Visual Editor widget in the header: https://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/. Here is some Custom CSS I’ve used for that are in the past:

    /* Header Widget Area */

    header#masthead hgroup #header-sidebar {
    color: #595959;
    font-size: 14px;
    line-height: 24px;
    }

    header#masthead hgroup #header-sidebar a {
    color: #4273d1;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    header#masthead hgroup #header-sidebar a:hover {
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    Insert under Appearance > Custom CSS and edit as required.
