Order posts in Post Loop by custom field

Hello, I have added a custom field to my posts called “startdate”. In the Posts Loop I want to sort my posts by that field. I thought “Order by meta value” in the Post Loop settings might be the right place to do this. However, there is no option so select which meta value should…
