Adjusting where Hero image sits

Hello, I use SiteOrigin Hero on my homepage for a slider of current announcements. I would like to make the hero slider appear more narrow, say 340 px or so, but when I make that change the background images do not work well. Heads get chopped off, eyes get cut out of the frame, etc.…
