Editing posts grid widget on child theme

Can I edit the posts grid widget on my child theme? Context: I need to add content after 6 posts (so 3rd row) based on the design I’m doing. Other plugins allow to edit the widget code on the child theme and it will work accordingly. I’ve tried for siteorigin but no luck. Can anyone…
