WP Vantage template-tags.php

I did some changes in template-tags.php.

The file was created in the directory vantage-child/inctemplate-tags.php

But it doesn’t work!
So I changed the original file in the vantage directory.

At the next update my changes wil be lost.
How can I do these changes in in the child-theme?
