Wordfence Security Plugin Locks Up

By Mitch Bonett, 9 years ago. Last reply by Mitch, 9 years ago.

Have tried to run a scan many times, but it locks up on the following line. I’ve emailed Wordfence and my host, neither with any luck. Wondering if anyone else has any ideas?

Am using Vantage premium

Fetching core, theme and plugin file signatures from Wordfence

thanks
Mitch

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mitch

I’m afraid we can’t offer too much help here, but maybe some general WordPress troubleshooting would do the trick.

Start by disabling all plugins besides Wordfence, then see if you can run the scan. If this works, start reneabling your plugins one by one to see which one was causing the problems.

There are a few other troubleshooting steps you can take, but this is the biggest one.

    Hi Mitch

Some additional info which might help.

I’ve installed the Wordfence plugin and successfully run a scan on a local WordPress instance with Vantage Premium activated.

Here are some suggestions from the Wordfence forum:

Additionally, if you have access to it, you can try check your host server error log for any Wordfence related problems which may be preventing the scan from completing.
