Widget sizing has no effect on size of rendered content

This is a new install of Page Builder. Any widget I choose allows me to add content. However, any content I add runs the full width of my live area on the page regardless of the percentage I assign to the row. For example, if I assign the left column 70% of the space and the right 30% and add text to both, the result appears as two sections of text, one on top of the other, running all the way across the live area of my page (illustrated in the Issue URL below).

Is there anything I need to do (to the Theme, for example) to make the results display correctly? Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Belgraveassoc

    This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Something else you can try is temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme and see if you still get the issue there. This would help identify if your theme is causing the problem.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hi, Greg. Thanks for your reply.

    We had previously tried disabling all non-SiteOrigin plug-ins and that made no difference. Switching to one of the default WP themes did solve it.

    So we know it’s some sort of conflict with our theme. We’re just not sure how to troubleshoot the issue. We are also having general CSS-related issues ( tags not working correctly, for example). In this case, the tags work in the default editor – just not in PageBuilder.

    Any advice for troubleshooting compatibility issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    If you’re able to give me a link to a page where the issue is occurring, I might be able to shed some light on what your theme is doing.

    Thanks very much, Greg. It’s evening here, and my programmer (who would know the best link to send you) has gone home. I’ll send an email to get a link and post here once I have it. Much appreciated!

    Hi Greg! I’m the aforementioned programmer and I wanted to pop in to hopefully shed some light on the issue. What seems to be happening for the time being is that not all of the text styles are being applied, particularly the italic or em tag. I think we’ve got the rest of them working properly but this one continues to elude us. Please see this example:

    Let me know if there are any more technical details I can provide to help out, and thanks! -Andy

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Andy

    The best place to start would be to add em styling to your theme. Something like this.

    em {
       font-style: italic;
    }

    At the moment your CSS reset is removing all styling on em tags.

    That did the trick – thank you Greg!
