Widget class problem

I’ve been trying to add a widget class or widget style to my widgets under Attributes but it just doesnt work.
No matter what class (style) I add it isn’t actually added in the final page. I’ve added classes and then inspected with google chrome (and also saved the HTML and searched for my class) but the class is never actually added to the widget.

Any ideas?
