Widget class problem

I’ve been trying to add a widget class or widget style to my widgets under Attributes but it just doesnt work. No matter what class (style) I add it isn’t actually added in the final page. I’ve added classes and then inspected with google chrome (and also saved the HTML and searched for my class)…
