Vantage – Menu & Header

hi,

i’m new to all this wordpress business and i love the vantage theme.
However i’m having a few issues.

Header issue:
I have my logo on the top left of the page, but i cannot remove the words on the right hand side of my header and its really annoying.

Menu:

Issue 1.

I know how to change the background colour of my menu, but not how to change the colour text. I can change the background via style.css but no option in there to change the text colour.

Issue 2.

I’d like the menu to be above my slider, right at the top of the page… Is this possible?

I am using the free version of vantage.
