How about some background for the request: I’m working on a site that’s more of a wiki than anything else. The heart is a set of pages. There’ll be 6 arrondissements pages, 54 canton pages, 540 commune pages, and 1350+ site pages. I know I can clone pages, which will help with propagating the original layout for each type of page. However, I am sure I will later want to modify the layouts as my ideas and the tools and expectations evolve. The thought of trying to propagate a change thru as many as 2000 pages makes me shudder!! In theory I could learn to create my own page templates — I’d rather not. My real interest is in populating the Web site with interesting information on the sites and photos showing how lovely they are, not in becoming a WP developer. Hence, my interest in an easy-to-use method to create and edit page templates.
