I am using the Gallery widget to upload images and thumbs. But there is no longer a button for “upload”.
Do you know about this problem?

Hi Pernilla,
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Let me know the outcome
Cheers
Hi! I already tried to uninstalling all plugins and it did not work. Sorry. Any other solution?
I found the problems.
1. the name of the widget had change from Gallery (PB) to SiteOrigin Image.
2. when adding the widget the plugin itself told me that I needed to install SiteOrigin_Widget_Image_Widget.
So now, finally, it works fine!
Hi Pernilla,
Am just coming from the weekend, am glad you have this figured out :-)
Always feel free to open a new thread whenever you require support.
Thank you.
Ok. I thought I had solved the problem but NOW the problem is that the thumbs does not display as an image gallery. Please take a look at my test page: http://www.hagagruppen.se/test-2/
The first row is done with the old widget called “gallery (pb)”. If you clic on the images they will be displayed like in a gallery.
The second row is done with the new widget called “siteorigin image”. If you click on the image it opens in a new window.
Is this something you can fix in order to use as before?
No reply to this?? Please…..
It would be perfect if there was the possibility to get 3 thumbs in the “siteorigin image”! That would solve my problem! =)
Hi Pernilla
Sorry for the hassles here, thanks for the long wait.
The Gallery (PB) widget unfortunately lost the Add Media button after Page Builder 2.0, this was due to changes in Page Builder and WordPress. This problem unfortunately won’t be resolved as we’re moving towards having all of our Page Builder widgets in our Widgets Bundle plugin which you can check out here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/.
The best alternative to the Gallery (PB) widget is the Visual Editor widget. To get access to this widget, you first need to have the following plugin installed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/.
The Gallery (PB) widget is still available. The SiteOrigin Image Widget is separate and new. If you don’t have access to default widgets and would like to, you can activate them at Settings > SiteOrigin Page Builder > Bundled Widgets.
So moving forward the answer would be to use the Visual Editor widget > Add Media > Add Gallery, that’ll create galleries in the usual way.
(For users with many Gallery (PB) widgets, we have a migration to the Visual Editor widget coming out, hopefully with the next Page Builder release).
Let me know if I can follow-up on any of these points.
Thanks again for the long wait.
Thanks for detailed info! I will try what you suggest. I hope I understand!
For sure. Let us know how you come along.
Hi Andrew!
I am sorry to have to ask you a little bit more. But I want to be sure as I am using your widget on a clients web and I dont want to confuse them.
When you say “Visual Editor widget”, do you mean the normal wordpress editor? (add media>gallery etc…) ?
When you say “migration to the Visual Editor widget coming out”, what will this help me to do?
You will not develop the Site Origin Image in order to have several thumbs on the same widget?
If I choose to continue with the Gallerby (PB), it will still be there and not dissapear with newer updates? (today I am creating a gallery with the normal editor on a separate page and when getting the images id:s I insert them in the Gallery PB, this is my best option to continue with the same design).
Thanks!
No problem. This can be confusing.
Visual Editor widget
This refers to the widget provided by the plugin, Black Studio TinyMCE. Black studio provides a widget called Visual Editor, it mimics the regular WordPress editor but in widget form. It can be used in regular widget areas like Sidebar and Footer and it can be used in Page Builder. It’s one of the most useful widgets to use in Page Builder.
Migration from Gallery (PB) widget to Visual Editor widget
Go to Plugins and make sure you have Black Studio TinyMCE installed. Then make sure Page Builder is on version 2.1. If it’s not, upgrade it. Then go to a page with a Gallery (PB) widget on it. The gallery will now automatically be in a Visual Editor widget now. No action required.
Creating New Galleries
Adding galleries via the Visual Editor widget (Add Media button) is the best option for moving forward.
Ok. I hope you can help me to restore how it was before the migration.
With the Visual Editor all the thumbs are in the same size and I can not change it. I thought the size should stay the same!!!!
I removed the black studio TinyMCE but the “gallery (pb)” did not come back. See a print screen of before/after http://www.hagagruppen.se/test-2/.
Even if it is more complicated with the FGallery (PB) I want it. Because it is the only way to have the thumbs as berfore. We do not want to change that.
Apologies for the hassle, we’ll do our best to help from here.
Migration Direction
The migration is one way, removing the Visual Editor widget now won’t cause a Gallery (PB) to inserted in it’s place. It’s a one time movement.
Fixing
To resolve please try this, open a Visual Editor widget that has a gallery in it. Hover over the gallery, click the pencil icon to edit the gallery. You should now see gallery options on the right. There you can set the thumbnail size and make other adjustments.
Thanks for continuing helping. I did this and the thumb of the first column does not show the hole image. Check here: http://www.hagagruppen.se/chesterfield-modeller/
It has to show the hole image, as the small thumbs, but in 1 column instead of 3 as the small.
Sure. The thumbnail, medium and large image sizes, available when adding an image or gallery are available as settings at Settings > Media in the main WordPress menu. It’s possible to go there and adjust the size of say the medium image size. If you do so you will then need to run the following plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
The first image at the page you sent is already cropped as you see it, 300px x 300px. Was it perhaps Large or Full size before?
Ok. So I download the plugin to regenerate thumbs. Then I choose to regenerate the medium size by going to settingss > media? I just change the mediums size in this case?
And after this I use the regenerate thumbs plugin?
I’d first suggest going to the image in question and checking if Large or Full image sizes which will be available once you edit, don’t suit the image better. If that doesn’t work you might consider changing the Medium image dimensions. If you do you need to run Regen. Thumbs afterwards. It will change all the Medium thumbs sitewide.
Ok. I think I made it! Just have to edit all images to the right size now!
I hope this was my last question!
Thanks for all the support!
Glad to hear you’re making progress. Please let me know if you run into any further hassles moving forward.
Cheers :)
