Under page title I see part of the page body

By PaoloRizzo, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

Using theme current, when i create a new page, i see the title (page name) and the content.. all is right.
When i add some page builder widgets to the same page or a new one, the page appears with part of the content under the title. How can i remove it?
Example:

Title
This is the content of the page. (this appear under the page title)

This is the content of the page (this is the real content in page body)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Paolo

    Page Builder content needs to be edited exclusively in Page Builder. Once content has been added in Page Builder it must only be edited there, not in the Visual or Text tabs. Before beginning to work a page in Page Builder all content should be first deleted from the Visual/Text tabs.

    Does this perhaps resolve your challenge?

    Hi Andrew, I just inserted one new page, set title to “pippo” and in page builder, i just added a text widget. The title for it is “titolo” and the body is “bla bla”. As you can see here, the result is always the same. title and body appear under page title. :(
    I read somewhere it could depend on “the_content” function used.. wp set excerpt section with first 55 words of body under page title.. is it so?

    [this is all title section]
    pippo
    titolo bla bla

    [this is the text widget object]
    titolo

    bla bla

    Hi Andrew, the problem appear on every site built on wp 3.9.1 with “theme current”, I tried on four of mine. Here you can see an example, but i think you can reproduce the trouble with every site you know and own..

    Hi, I Work Here

    Ok so to confirm you’re not asking about our SiteOrigin theme Current: https://siteorigin.com/theme/current/. When you say theme current you just mean the current theme activated on your installation?

    I just see a signup form here: http://www.civicosfitto.it/?page_id=9. Is the site perhaps password protected?

    Yeah Andrew I just set coming soon page on.. now it’s visible.
    I mean SiteOrigini with theme = “Current”, just the theme who’s name is “current”.
    With any other site origin theme i’ve no trouble.
    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Ok got you now.

    You can edit this line “title body text” by editing the Excerpt field on the page. If you can’t see that field then click Screen Options top right and click the Excerpt checkbox to enable the field on the page you’re editing.

    I just tested this now and it works ok for me. Let me know how it goes on your side.

    As you can see, “title body text” under “Chi apre e chi chiude” are “title” and “body” of widget inserted with page builder

    There are no “excerpt” fields in my page..the box is empty. I just enabled the field in screen options but no result. I only see some fields enabling “custom field” but they are all about “vantage” objects
    :(

    Hi, I Work Here

    Sorry we weren’t able to resolve this for you. It is possible to place the following in a Custom CSS plugin or module like the one included with Jetpack and hide the Excerpt field:

    /* Current Hide Page Excerpt */

    #page-header .excerpt {
    display: none;
    }

    Hi Andrew! Thanks a lot.. I just solved with your suggest about CSS.

    Now I can use PageBuilder and “Current” Theme from SiteOrigin together and go on with my site!

    Have a nice day!

      Hi Andrew, bad news. After my last update (this morning) on theme named “Current” I have once again “excerpt text” under pages’ title.
      I just placed css code as you suggested 8 days ago but this time the trick does not work anymore.

      Can you help me Andrew? I suppose you know what has changed in this last version :(

      Many thanks
      Paolo

    Solved!! :)
    Sorry Andrew, I placed the code in Style.css instead of a .php module (page.php for example). Now I tried and all is ok!

    All the best.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Paolo

    To be upgrade safe that CSS snippet should be placed in a Custom CSS module, the one bundled with Jetpack works well.

    Hope that helps.
