    My website is http://www.indiachatforum.net/viral

I have WordPress 4.3.1 running Focus Premium 2.2 theme.

I see all the widgets on the left side but I don’t see any sidebar on the right- therefore unable to add/remove anything

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kiran

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for your response and sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I have tries disabling all the plugins and it did not help.

    Few things I observed are-

    1. The widget and screen options work in other themes like Twenty Fifteen and others. So this looks like an issue with the theme itself
    2. On the Appearance > Widgets screen the “screen options” and “help” doesn’t work. When I click on them nothing happens
    3. The site builder plugin doesn’t work even though I enable it from plugins

I have tried everything and lost hope. Please help

    Hi Kiran

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kiran

We’d like to try reinstalling Focus. Can we please, confirm, have you ever edited any theme files via Appearance > Editor or any other means?

    Thanks

    Hi

Please feel free to reinstall the theme but please make sure nothing gets deleted or the site doesn't break :-)

I did not make any manual changes to anything.

    Hi Kiran

We’re running into permissions issues trying to reinstall Focus. Please, can you use the Private Reply checkbox bottom right to send a set of FTP details so we can install that way.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

We’re unable to install via Appearance > Themes > Add New using the WordPress.org theme directory OR via manual upload. In both cases, specific theme files are being blocked. For example:

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/theme/focus.1.2.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Could not copy file. focus/extras/plugin-activation/plugin-activation.php

Installing via FTP will hopefully resolve this problem. It’s not something we’ve ever come across before so we can’t be sure where the problem is coming from, yet.

    Hi, I Work Here

The same problem occurs when we try install a default WordPress theme, for example:

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/theme/twentyfourteen.1.6.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Could not copy file. twentyfourteen/content-featured-post.php

    Hi,

The file system on the hosting server was full. That's why the file was not uploading. I have cleared some files and was able to upload and install the theme. I have activated it. But still don't see the widgets option. Please check.

    Hi, I Work Here

We’re trying to install a tiny plugin called: Server IP & Memory Usage Display. We use this to check how much memory your WordPress installation has available. The install for this plugin is failing:

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/server-ip-memory-usage.1.2.1.zip…

Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /home/kish009/public_html/indiachatforum/viral/wp-content/uploads/server-ip-memory-usage.1.2.1-tbRahZ.tmp

This is a hosting related issue, it’s sort of covered here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-http-error-could-not-open-handle-for-fopen-1?replies=5. Is this issue perhaps related to the widgets issue?

    Hi

I was able to install the plugin fine. I do have issue with my hosting File usage approaching the limit. But I don't think it's related to the widget issue because this issue started way before the file usage was close to full.

I have installed the plugin. Could you please check now.

    Hi, I Work Here

Server IP & Memory Usage Display unfortunately, doesn’t seem to work with your hosting.

Are you able to download your error logs and send them so we can check for problems?
