Unable to change Font Color in Vantage Headline

By KC Moon, 9 years ago. Last reply by KC Moon, 9 years ago.

Hi!

I cannot change the font color on the vantage headline to anything other than the default dark gray. I’ve tried changing it through Pages > Home and through Appearance > Home Page. I already went through a ton of problem solving with the Background Image for Vantage Headline (deactivating plugins, deleting/re-installing, etc. see previous: https://siteorigin.com/thread/vantage-headline-background-image/)

I found this post and attempted to resolve, but I cannot locate the Cusom CSS as referenced:

Text colour for Vantage Headline & header siteorigin call to action

Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi KC

Please navigate to Appearance->Home Page. On the vantage headline click the edit option on the right.
When the overlay loads click the layout option on the right hand side. You can change the font colour here.

    Hope this helps

This is the problem. Even though I am navigating to the Font Color location, as you recommended, and selecting various colors, it will not populate the change on my site = ( Also, after I select the color I am clicking “Done” and then Saving the Home Page.

Hi! I still haven’t been able to solve this, can anyone help?

When I attempt to change the font color for the vantage headline widget through Pages > Home or through Appearance > Home Page > Design > Font Color, even though I can see all of the options for various colors, it will not accept the changes. It only keeps the dark gray default color…

    Your assistance is greatly appreciated!!

    Hi KC

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Di you have a public URL where we can see the problem? If you need to keep this private, click the private reply option under the comments field. If private it will need to wait until Andrew or Daniel can get to have a look.

    Thanks

    Hi,

You can see the public result of the issue at kchrsolutions.com under the meta slider where it says,”the freedom to do business”. Otherwise, I don’t know how to give you a public URL to the admin side (if that is what you meant?)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi KC

I now understand what you mean , my mistake.

You need to be changing the background colour on the row containing the Vantage Headline Widget. If you click the spanner icon the setting will be Theme in the editor.

    Hope this helps

    Hi!

I changed the background color for both the headline widget and the row where the widget is located and this still did not correct the font color inside the widget. Any other thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi KC Moon

Please try this. Edit the vantage headline widget. Expand the headline element and set the colour to your required text colour. Expand the sub headline element and do the same.

Let me know how you get on

Just got a chance to look at this. Here are my choices under the DESIGN option:

    Background Color = white (#ffffff)
    Background Image = my photo
    Background Image Display = “cover”
    Border Color = clear
    Font Color = white (#ffffff)

It does not appear that I can distinguish between the Headline and Sub headline text colors.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi KC Moon

If not already installed please install this plugin.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/

This contains a much improved version of the Headline Widget. Please change the existing Vantage Headline to the SiteOrigin Headline. This version will give you the control you need over the fonts.

Let us know how you get on

Installed the bundle and deleted the old headline. You said “Siteorigin Headline”, but it looks like I still only have “Vantage Headline” as the option in the bundle. – Nothing has changed.

Here is a list of the plug ins I have right now:
    Akismet Version 3.1.1
    Contact Form 7 Version 4.1.2
    Hello Dolly. Version 1.6
    Meta Slider Version 3.3.2
Page Builder by SiteOrigin Version 2.1.2
    SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle Version 1.2.4
Top 25 Social Icons Version 2.0.0
    WP Super Cache Version 1.4.4

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi KC Moon

Please navigate to Plugins->SiteOrigin Widgets and make sure that all widgets you wish to use are enabled.

You should then be able to see the SiteOrigin widget as available.
