space between menu icons and text

Hello
I found this earlier thread https://siteorigin.com/thread/change-space-between-menu-icons-and-menu-text/ however the custom css does not have an effect on the spacing. Its very noticeable on a mobile device such an iPhone where the icon is literally right next to the first word of the title.

Am I missing something?

I also have the paid version but cannot find the order number since I do not have the email anymore. I went to general settings to find one but it’s asking me for the order number instead of giving it to me.

Thanks

    Hi Brandon,

    It appears as if you’re using a different plugin to create the menu icons, which is why that CSS in the other thread isn’t working properly. Never fear though, CSS that targets a slightly different element should do the trick.

    .main-navigation ul li a > span {
        margin-left: 1em;
    }

    Let me know if that does the trick for you.

    It didnt change anything… What i did was put space using   a few times which solved it. However the home page I cannot edit… as you can see from the link in the original post, all of the pages that I can edit the title seem fine, just need the home page to space out a bit.

    thanks for the help!
