SiteOrigin CSS vs Page Builder for spacing and coloring

I’m using Influence, Influence Plus, and Page Builder, and I like them. My only concern with Page Builder is that I can’t get the spacing quite right between new rows of content or images. There always seems to be a bigger gap than I would like, meaning it doesn’t flow properly.

I’d also like to separate a page into three different content sections, with a slightly different background color in each section. Not the outside of the page, but the areas behind the content. So readers can see that I’m trying to differentiate those areas.

Will SiteOrigin CSS help me to alter the spacing and to add the colors, or is there something else I should do instead?
