SiteOrigin CSS vs JetPack CSS

10 years ago · Last reply by Support Assistants 10 years ago

I am sure this question has been answered before, but came across this and wondering if SiteOrign CSS is same as JetPack Custom CSS? Aware of slow load time JetPack causes, if one only uses JetPack for the Custom CSS features, can one get same functions if one switches to SiteOrigin CSS?

Functions includes: removing, altering, the page footer, header, colors changes, etc..

    Hi Obi55

    Thanks for reaching out.

I’m not sure how much of a load time impact Jetpack has if you only use one or two modules. Jetpack Custom CSS does the same base level task as SiteOrigin CSS. They both provide a field to which you can add custom CSS rules. Those rules get inserted into the theme’s head. SiteOrigin CSS adds a visual editor which Jetpack Custom CSS doesn’t offer. Jetpack Custom CSS is able to parse Sass and LESS which are CSS preprocessors, SiteOrigin doesn’t offer this yet.

Hope that helps explain the similarities and differences. Let us know if you have any further questions.
